Bar Association Act 2025

The underlying Bar Association Act 2023 was repealed by Bar Association Constitution.

Bar Association Act (Amendment) 2025

Section 1: Title

This act shall be known as the “Bar Association Act (Amendment) 2025”

Section 2: Amendment to Bar Director Elections

Article 1 section 4 of the “Bar Association Act 2023” shall be amended to read:

   “The members of the Bar shall elect the Bar Director in accordance with the bylaws of the Bar”

Section 3: Amendment to Bar Bylaws

Article 4 section 1.1 of the “Bar Association Act 2023” shall be amended to read:

   “Bylaws may only regulate internal matters of the bar. In this context, bar bylaws will be superior to any other legislation unless a piece of legislation specifies that it takes precedence over bylaws.”

Article 4 section 4 of the “Bar Association Act 2023” shall be amended to read:

   “Bylaws require a simple majority of votes in favor to be ratified.”
