Bar Chips Amendment
Split by the Senate into separate bill. Article 3 did not pass. Article 8 passed 13 July 2025, was signed by the President on 14 July 2025, and was ratified by the Bar Association on 16 July 2025.

- the requirement to recertify as a Bar Member has doesn’t actually exist, and not having to recertify is the only substantial positive of receiving the honor of Senior Council;
The SimDem Bar Association Constitution shall be amended;

Article three (3) of the SimDem Bar Associstion Constitution will be amended to add §3, and read as follows:
Article 3: Membership of the Bar Association
§1. The Bar Director shall create, administer, and maintain a certification exam to ensure a high standard of legal knowledge for certified attorneys. To become a member of the SDBA, a person must pass the certification exam.
§2. The certification exam must be publicly available, and all citizens of SimDemocracy must have access to it.
§3. With the exception of Senior Council, Bar Director, Assistant Bar Directors; Bar Members will be required to requalify through completion of the Bar Exam, every calendar year.
- §3.1 To avoid a lapse of qualified members, a grace period of 1 month will be given each year. Allowing Bar Members to complete the Bar Exam before the month of February without any lapse in certification.
- §3.2 Bar Members will be required to complete the Bar Exam in its entirety, to include any practical portions; not limited to what is in the current version of the Bar Exam at the time of this article.
- §3.3 Exemption from practical portions of the Bar Exam may be made by the Bar Director via Administrative Decrees issued in the weeks before the end of the year; I.E. Bar Members that have completed X amount of cases within the past 3 months will be exempt from completing the practical portions of the Bar Exam.
Addition of a new article in the SimDem Bar Association Constitution, Article 8: Bar Administration Pay, which shall read;
Article 8: Bar Administrative Pay
§1. The Bar Administration shall follow pay according to equivalent government positions, with the following pay grades.
- §1.1. The Bar Director shall receive pay equivalent to a Cabinet Member
- §1.2. Assistant Bar Directors shall receive pay equivalent to a Deputy Secretary.
§2. Mock Trial Judges, or their equivalent in future practical exercises as part of the Bar Exam, shall receive 100 tau per case (or exercise).
§3. Bar Administrative Pay shall be paid through the Bar Association Tau account, and included in reports to the Bar Finance Committee.
