Department of Justice Resolution 004/2025

SUBJECT: Department of Justice Resolution 004/2025

Purpose

As to uphold the public trust in our department and prevent any fear of cases and investigations not being handled to the necessary objective standards, the following rules for mandatory recusal are enacted.

Mandatory Action

Every Member of the Department of Justice who is involved in any case, excluding those charged with overseeing the dispensement of payments to personnel or third parties, who might hold any form of personal interest in the outcome of the matter or who suffer a personal connection to the party involved in the matter, shall be mandated to recuse themselves from the matter and inform their immediate superior of such steps to ensure the matter can be reassigned.

If, through a shortage in properly authorised personal or personal in general, the case could not be worked otherwise, the Office of the Attorney General may institute steps to allow affected personnel to still serve in a case in such a way, that their judgements do not influence the outcome of the matter to an unnecessary degree. If through a shortage in authorised personnel the need to assign potentially biased agents arises, the Offices of the superior Offices shall request the AG to put forth a call for hiring to fill the ranks to prevent any perceived tainting of the proceedings through the assignment of unbiased new recruits.

Objectivity

All Agents and personnel of the Department of Justice shall be objective and impartial in the conduct of their duties. If at any point they perceive such impartiality to be impossible of hindered, they shall request to be substituted in their duties. The appointed offices shall request their respective deputies to substitute, if they suffer the same bias too, the Office of the AG shall be asked to name a replacement with the necessary powers for the matter.
