To establish a more defined and rigid system of organization within the Department of Justice, and to reflect the current state and realities of its current operations, the Department hereby issues the following resolution

II. Clarification Notes

§1. The Department Personnel can be separated into 5 primary categories

§1.1 Cabinet-Level: Officials/Officers requiring Presidential Appointment

§1.2 Senior Executive Service (SES): Officials/Officers at a Senior-Level within the Department, typically career employees of the Department

§1.3 Supervisory: Personnel typically tasked with overseeing work and operations of others within the Department

§1.4 Field Level: The brunt of personnel that consist of the department’s personnel base, tasked with executing tasks and duties to accomplish departmental missions and objectives

§1.5 Probationary: Personnel who are employed by the department on a contingent or temporary basis such as interns, recruits, cadets, and administrative staff

§2. Line of Succession for Attorney General

§2.1 Deputy Attorney General and Solicitor General (By Seniority)

§2.2 Director, State Attorney’s Office

§2.3 State Attorneys (By Seniority)
