EO 154-08 Succession Planning

Whereas a department shouldn't be left leaderless, or be at risk of being leaderless,

Whereas clarifying the line of succession within the department shall reduce issues if the secretary and deputy positions are left empty,

§1. All Secretaries shall clarify a line of succession, based on roles, within their department. However, Deputy Secretaries are always first in line to succeed an incapacitated, on leave, retired, or fired secretary.

§1.1. This line of succession shall be posted within the respective department's announcement channel.

§1.2. Executive officers shall be higher in the line of succession than employees.

§1.3. The president reverses the right to alter any line of succession.
