Minecraft Commendations Act 2025
Passed by the Assembly on 31 July 2025.
- Whereas
- users of the Minecraft server deserve official recognition of their accomplishments,
- Recognizing
- that similar legislation exists for the core territories of SimDem,
I, Magistrate Ben, hereby propose the following act:
Article 1: Order of the Golden Apple
§1. The Order of the Golden Apple shall be the highest honour the Minecraft Colony can give, and it may be given to users who have made significantly positive contributions to the Colony or Server as a whole.
§2. For a user to receive membership into the Order of the Golden Apple, they must:
- §2.1. Be jointly nominated by the Governor, the Assembly Speaker, and a Magistrate with a simple majority, and
- §2.2. Have the nomination confirmed by the populace with a two-thirds (⅔) majority.
- §2.3. Such a commendation may be revoked in the same manner.
§3. Membership into the Order shall confer a user the right to perks as may be subsequently designated by Assembly resolution, Executive Order, or legislation.
§4. Members shall be given a named enchanted golden apple and coordinates to a headquarters that only members of the order and the Governor can know when such has been created.
Article 2: Order of the Wither Rose
§1. Membership in the Order of the Wither Rose may be given to users who have made positive contributions to the Colony as recognised by the Governor.
§2. For a user to receive a membership, they must be given one by an Executive Order.
- §2.1. By the same method, such a commendation may be revoked.
§3. Membership in the Order shall confer a user the right to perks as may be subsequently designated by Executive Order.
§4. Members shall be given a named wither rose and coordinates to a headquarters that only members of the order and the Governor can know when such has been created.
Article 3: Order of the Lily
§1. Membership in the Order of the Lily may be given to users who have made positive contributions to the Colony as recognised by the legislative branch.
§2. For a user to receive membership, they must:
- §2.1. Be nominated by an Assembly Member and,
- §2.2. Have the nomination confirmed by the Assembly with a two-thirds (⅔) majority.
§3. Membership in the Order shall confer a user the right to perks as may be subsequently designated by a resolution of the Assembly.
§4. Members shall be given a named Lily of the Valley and coordinates to a headquarters that only members of the order and the Speaker of the Assembly can know when such has been created.
Article 4: Order of the Torchflower
§1. Membership in the Order of the Torchflower may be given to users who have made positive contributions to the Colony as recognised by the judicial branch.
§2. For a user to receive membership, they must:
- §2.1. Be nominated by a Magistrate and,
- §2.2. Not have their nomination be vetoed by a separate Magistrate.
§3. Membership in the Order shall confer a user the right to perks as may be subsequently designated by a court order.
§4. Members shall be given a named Torchflower and coordinates to a headquarters that only members of the order and the Magistrates can know when such has been created.
Article 5: Prohibition of self-nomination
§1. No person may nominate or jointly nominate themselves for any honor, commendation, or order.
Article 6: Prohibition of stolen valour
§1. An article shall be added to the Minecraft Criminal Code 2025 titled "Stolen Valour" with the following text:
§1. A person commits stolen valour if they:
§1.1. Act or present themselves in a way which would mislead a reasonable person into believing that they possessed an honour or commendation which they did not have, or
§1.2. Knowingly make use of perks reserved to commended individuals
§2. The sentences available for stolen valour can include up to forty-eight (48) hours in prison and/or appropriate equitable punishment (such as posting an apology in an appropriate forum).
Footnote: Spellings
§1. The spellings of the above established commendations may be referred to equally as “honors” or “honours”.
- §1.1. Likewise with any other commonly accepted spelling variations.
