Establishment of Nationstates Region Act Amendments

Article 1: Establishment of Nationstates Region Act Amendments

§1.0 : Article 2 §5 that currently reads :

“The Governor is to be appointed by the President and confirmed by a simple majority vote of support by the Senate.”

Shall be amended to read :

“The Governor is to be elected by the members of the nationstates region.”

§1.1 : Article 2 shall be amended to add §5.1 that shall read :

“The election shall use the First Past the Post system and shall be conducted by the Election commission.”

§1.2 : Article 2 shall be amended to add §5.2 that shall read :

“Only members of the Nationstates region who are registered with the Governor and have the designated role for Nationstates members may vote in this election”

§1.3 : Article 2 shall be amended to add §5.3 that shall read :

“The Governor shall be elected on the 1st of every month except in cases where the governorship becomes vacant, in such cases a by-election using the same system shall be conducted.”

§1.4 : Article 2 shall be amended to add §5.4 that shall read :

“If the Governor refuses to comply with the results of an election it shall be considered Treason.”

§1.5 : Article 2 §6 that currently reads :

“The Governor may be removed from office by the President if the Senate votes with a simple majority of support for the removal of the Governor from office.”

Shall be repealed in its entirety and all points shall be renumbered according to this change.

§1.6 : Article 3 that currently reads :

Ҥ1. The users within the colony may collectively agree decisions as to matters of the colony of both internal matters to the colony and to matters of diplomacy with other regions or nations.

§1.1. These decisions must comply with the laws of SimDemocracy, including any treaty ratified by the Senate and the foreign policy decisions of the President and the Department of State.
§1.2. These decisions shall be agreed by way of a vote that shall be introduced by the Governor and then voted by the users within the colony, a simple majority of votes supporting a decision is required to establish a decision.”

Shall be repealed in its entirety.

Article 2: NationStates Activity Act Amendments

§2.1 : Article 2 that currently reads :

Ҥ1. Elections for the regions governor will be held openly on a google form with Nation Names specified. (Memberstates only)

§2. The announcements for the elections will be notified with not “@Everyone” but a special NationStates role available in the Channels and Roles section of the server on discord shall be pinged instead. These will also be housed in \#nationstates-announcements.

§3 Elections will be held monthly

§4 There will be a punishment of removal of 500 tau if ownership of the region is not transferred based on election results.

§5 A new region will be created as the owner of the current region’s account is offline.”

Shall be repealed in its entirety.
