Smokers Act 2025

Passed by the Senate on 9 May 2025, and not vetoed by the President within 72 hours.

Preamble

Whereas
there is a large community of smokers in SimDemocracy;
Whereas
we should encourage communities to join together and create with each other;
Whereas
there have been events that have shown some role play in SimDemocracy can work;

Article 1: Roles for the Act

§1. The following roles shall be created:

§1.1. Smoker.
§1.2. Dealer.
§1.3. Dispensary Owner.

§2. For the sake of fun and scarcity there may only be three (3) Dealers and one (1) Dispensary Owner at a time.

§3. All of these roles will be strictly aesthetic and will have no extra permissions along with them.

Article 2: Rotation of Roles

§1. Any verified user in SimDemocracy may select the Smoker role from #Channels & Roles.

§2. Every two (2) weeks the Dispensary Owner and Dealers will be randomly chosen from the list of users with the Smoker role.

Article 3: Channels for the Act

§1. The following channels shall be created in the Member Fun category:

§1.1 #smoke-room.
§1.2 #simdem-dispo.
§1.3 #shady-backroom.

§2. #smoke-room may be used by any verified user, but its main purpose will be for users with the Smoker role to either role play or use while smoking in real life.

§3. #simdem-dispo is to be controlled by the Dispensary Owner role, and will be used to role play as a dispensary for users with the Smoker role.

§4. #shady-backroom is to be controlled by the Dealer role, and will be used to role play as a place to buy from dealers in SimDemocracy.

Article 4: Implementation

§1. The roles for this Act should be created as soon as it is passed by the Senate.

§2. Seven (7) days following the Smoker role being added to #Channels & Roles the President will randomly select users from the Smoker role list to be the first Dealers and Dispensary Owner.
