Treasury Liaison Act
Preamble
Whereas it is in the best interest of SimDemocracy for the Treasury Department to more easily be able to track employees and their wages.
Whereas there have been delays and mistakes made with pay in the past.
Whereas there should be more interdepartmental communication regarding employment and wages.
Article 1: Creation of the Treasury Liaison
§1. Every cabinet level department in SimDemocracy must have a liaison from the Treasury Department assigned to them by either the Secretary of Treasury or the Treasurer.
- §1.1. There will also be a liaison assigned to the judiciary to track judges and how many cases are completed to comply with the Senate Payments Act.
- §1.2. There will also be a liaison assigned to the military to ensure that our soldiers and other members of the military are paid accurately and on time.
§2. The liaison must be an employee of the Department of Treasury.
§3. This liaison will have access to a list of all employees and their weekly pay scale in whatever department they have been assigned to.
§4. The information above must be provided to the liaison by either the head of the government body or someone who has been specifically appointed by the head of the government body to assist the liaison.
§5. A new role, called “Treasury Liaison” shall be created and assigned by the Discord Supervisor.
Article 2: Implementation
§1. This act will become effective immediately upon passage.
Article 3: Standardized Reporting Procedures<ref name="amendment">Treasury Liaison (Amendment) Act</ref>
§1. All Treasury Liaisons must submit a weekly report to the Secretary of the Treasury. This report shall include:
- §1.1. A list of all currently active employees in the assigned department.
- §1.2. The weekly compensation due to each employee.
- §1.3. Any discrepancies or delays in payments, with explanations.
- §1.4. Notes on changes in employment status (hiring, resignation, termination).
§2. Reports must follow a standardized template issued by the Department of Treasury, which includes:
- §2.1. Employee ID (Discord username)
- §2.2. Role/Title
- §2.3. Wage bracket
- §2.4. Payment status
§3. Reports are due every Saturday by 19:59 UTC. Failure to submit two consecutive reports without valid justification will result in review and potential reassignment.
