THE SENATE OF SIM DEMOCRACY PROCLAIMS
Article 1: Registrar of the Inferior Courts
<ref name="another">Another Another Court Improvement Act 2025 passed and signed 26 June 2025.</ref> §1. The Chief Justice may at their discretion, subject to laws regarding employment, hire Registrars, who shall be paid 200 tau per week.
§2. The Registrar(s) shall be tasked with fulfilling the following duties –
- §2.1. Managing the assignation of Inferior Court Cases and the maintenance of the Inferior Court docket;
- §2.2. Summarily dismiss a civil or criminal action with valid reason, upon instruction from a Judge; and,
- §2.3. Perform any other administrative task delegated to them by the Chief Justice.”
Article 2: Secretary of the Supreme Court
<ref name="another" /> §1. The Chief Justice may at their discretion, subject to laws regarding employment, hire Secretaries<ref name="secs">Simple bill passed and signed 18 December 2025</ref>, who shall be paid 200 tau per week.
§2. The Secretary shall be tasked with fulfilling the following duties –
- §2.1. Managing the general upkeep of the Supreme Court Rota;
- §2.2. Summarizing briefs that the Supreme Court receives,
- §2.3. Perform any other administrative task delegated to them by the Chief Justice.
Article 3: Mandatory portions of Judgement and Case Filings
Replaced through the Judiciary Act <ref name="judiciaryact25">Judiciary Act 2025</ref>
§1. All filings, criminal or civil, containing references to user accounts, shall be required to include the user ID of the account mentioned, if the account is a Discord account, and the Registrar shall reject any filing which does not include the user ID of any mentioned account.§1. Article 4: Formatting Guidelines
<ref name="caseformat">Court Case Formatting Act</ref> §1. Any Criminal Complaints, Civil Complaints, or Supreme Court filings (collectively referred to as “complaint” or “complaints”) placed in the “court-case-request” channel must meet the guidelines outlined below.
- §1.1. The complaint should be a single file, in a human readable format.
- §1.2. The complaint should be accessible to everyone. (e.g. view perms on Google Docs)
- §1.3. The text/information in the complaint should be legible without difficulty.
- §1.4. The text/information in the complaint should be of reasonable size, without the need of excessive zooming in or out.
Article 5: Enforcement
<ref name="caseformat" /> §1. The Court Registrar may reject improperly formatted cases and decline to assign a judge or not put the complaint on the docket until the defects have been cured.
- <ref name="omnibus">December 2025 Omnibus Amendments passed and signed on 14 December 2025.</ref>§1.1. The Registrar shall also be empowered to make such inquiries as may be necessary for the enforcement of Article 2§1 of the Courtroom Procedures Act 2025.
- §1.1.1. Any person who receives an inquiry from the Registrar in relation to this subsection is bound to state truthfully and completely what they know within a reasonable time from receiving the inquiry.
- §1.1.2. The Registrar may exercise the powers in §1. in relation to their duties under §1.1.
§2. In order to properly execute this act, the Court Registrar shall be granted appropriate permissions to enforce this legislation.
§3. In order to maintain clarity in the channel, unrelated conversation or otherwise extraneous messages may be deleted from the “court-case-request” channel by the Court Registrar with the concurrence of a Judge or Justice, or by a Judge or Justice with the concurrence of another. These messages should be placed within the appropriate channels. (e.g. the “court-general” channel.)
Article 6: Exceptions
<ref name="caseformat" /> §1. If classified information is present in the complaint then a redacted copy may be submitted to be seen by everyone/the public.
§2. Emergency complaints regarding important matters may be submitted without proper formatting, though a properly formatted version must be submitted within 24 hours of the improperly formatted version.
§3. A link to a Google Doc or other document viewing services are considered a “single file”.
Section 1: Civil Trial Time Limit
§1. In Article 14, §1. of the Court Room Procedures Act, replace “seven (7)” with “fourteen (14)”.
Section 2: Court Improvement Act
§1. The Court Improvement Act is repealed and any article or amendment therein is to be undone.
