§1. The following people have made major contributions to the legal field and deserve official recognition so pursuant to my powers per Article 3a of the Honours and Commendations Act 2023, I award the following people with Medals of Judicial Excellence:

§1.1. terak, He is a former and current Attorney General, former Inferior Court Judge and former Court of Review Judge. His first tenure in the Department of Justice is regarded as a golden age that saw high profile prosecutions against terrorists. After this he was appointed as a Judge of the inferior courts where he dutifully performed his duties. Later, after the establishment of the Court of Review he was immediately appointed to it. Then after resigning as CoR judge he has been appointed as Attorney General again where he is performing his job in a most adequate manner again. The primary reason for awarding him with this medal is his exemplary service as Attorney General.
§1.2. astralisyndica, He is a former Justice of the Supreme Court and is primarily being awarded this medal for his decision Reference re Treaty of Nolandia [2025] SDSC 16. The most detailed and I believe only major decision on foreign policy affairs in 2025. Barring a change in constitution, this decision will be the bedrock for almost all future foreign affairs related litigation.
§1.3. brandmal11, He is a current Court of Review and Inferior Court Judge and member of the esteemed AHA law firm. The primary reason for him being awarded this medal is the advocacy he performed under the AHA infront of the Supreme Court that led to decisions like Ad Hoc Advocates LLP, ex parte adeacentpear (Appellant) v State of Simdemocracy (Respondent) [2025] SDSC 15 and Ppatpat and brandmal, ex parte thesigmasquad (Appellant) v State of SimDemocracy (Respondent) [2025] SDSC 13. Public service litigation is a very good initiative which he has taken great part in.
§1.4. britzy1707, He is a current Supreme Court Justice and Inferior Court Judge. The primary reason for him being awarded this medal is because of his decision Nolan (Appellant) v Lucas (Respondent) [2025] SDSC 33. He finally fixed the absurd definition of a reasonable person given in other cases and set a standard that can easily used in litigation.
§1.5. creative0690, He is a former Attorney General and Inferior Court Judge. The primary reason for him being given this award is because of his tenure as Attorney General. He was responsible for leading a very successful operation that exposed a large scale attempt to brigade our discord server and rig our elections for malicious purposes.
§1.6. diapason_ben, He is a current Inferior Court Judge and former Court of Review Judge and Attorney General. He is one of the first danyospawn ever appointed to the bench. Throughout the year he has overseen many many many IC cases. He built a reputation for being the first responder to many warrants and Emergency Ban requests. He is also one of the main figures in the movement responsible for bring expediency to the SimDem legal system. He has embodied the phrase "Justice delayed is Justice denied."
§1.7. ed.zz, He is the current Chief Justice of SimDemocracy, Inferior Court Judge and former Attorney General. He is primarily being awarded this medal for his decision In re EO 143-04 [2025] SDSC 24. He set new boundaries on the executive branch and protected employees, citizens of SimDemocracy from unreasonable abuse of office in the name of executive authority. His decision has clarified a lot of the haze around the limitation on the office of the President.
§1.8. hmquestionable, He is a Court of Review Judge and Inferior Court Judge. His biggest services to SimDem do not actually come from the bench though. He was a member for the DoJ for a very long time and guided the department towards better evidence collection methods, better criminal prosecution charging methods and other techniques to guard the server from malicious actors. I believe he is singlehandedly responsible for getting dozens of criminals put behind bars.
§1.9. mrgamerboy, He is a former Court of Review Judge, Inferior Court Judge and Bar Director. No one can deny that before his tenure as Bar Director, the bar was not the same institution and it has'nt been the same after. He brought forth a wave of reform like the formation of ethics committee and creation of so much new infrastructure that the revival of the Bar is many times linked to his person.
§1.10. f3rri5_, He is a former Attorney General and current Court of Review Judge and Inferior Court Judge. He has been involved in high profile prosecutions like the BBQ Zhen trials and has been involved with the DoJ in the prosecution of many bad actors. He also engaged in public interest advocacy with the AHA law firm. He has also authored dissenting opinions and judgements from the bench that have enriched the legal scene of SimDemocracy. His long term dedication to all different facets of law is what makes him deserving of this medal.
§1.11. therealppatpat, He is a Court of Review Judge and Inferior Court Judge. He has served as prosecutor in the DoJ where he was involved in high profile cases against terrorists. He was also the driving force behind the AHA public interest litigation mentioned before so much so that he singlehandedly overwhelmed the Supreme Court dock. He authored important decisions like SD v Flashing Lights [2025] Crim 105 that have been used as precedent time and time again. He also authored Writ of Prohibition - Lucas v Department of Justice [2025] SDIC 8, a decision which was the first domino that fell and led to a chain of events resulting in the creation of the Court of Review. If anyone is deserving of a medal for services rendered in 2025 then it is ppatpat.
§1.12. ivycactus, He is a current Supreme Court Justice and Inferior Court Judge. Ivy Cactus has been by far the most active Justice this year. He is primarily responsible for the introduction of the unitary executive theory in In re Article 4 s5 of the Executive Act 2023 [2025] SDSC 9, a concept that is widely used in legal discussions today. He is also responsible for clarifying the role of the Vice President to a great degree in decisions like Reference re Status of the Vice President [2025] SDSC 12 and Reference re Presidential Dismissal of the Vice President [2025] SDSC 14. He is the one who provided the decisions to both AHA public service litigation provided before.<ref>Ad Hoc Advocates LLP, ex parte adeacentpear (Appellant) v State of Simdemocracy (Respondent) [2025] SDSC 15 and Ppatpat and brandmal, ex parte thesigmasquad (Appellant) v State of SimDemocracy (Respondent) [2025] SDSC 13</ref> He is the one who provided the most major civil law decision of 2025 by far in Confused, ex parte Antimuggy (Appellant) v Notcommunist366 et al. (Respondent) [2025] SDSC 20. Lastly he provided essential nuance to safeguard the right against forced labor in In re EO 143-04 [2025] SDSC 24. Safe to say Ivy Cactus' contributions are too numerous to count.
§1.13. thelittlesparty, He is the former Chief Justice, current Justice and Inferior Court Judge. Many people mentioned on this list I have learned, got into law because of him so it is no wonder he also gets a spot. He is responsible for decision the guarded Senate confirmations and prevented the President completely sidestepping the Senate in Summary Decision - In re Deputy Executive Officer Appointments [2025] SDSC 28. He is perhaps the most opinionated Justice providing the most Dissents on cases by far. That is adds a level of enrichment that 3-0 majority decisions could never inspire.
§1.14. lyoko222, He is a former Attorney General. While a very divisive figure in the community no one can deny the effect he has had on the legal community. His presence is most felt in hate speech cases where was also involved in the high profile terrorism litigation mentioned before. He was also the counsel in the civil case Confused, ex parte Antimuggy (Appellant) v Notcommunist366 et al. (Respondent) [2025] SDSC 20. Like him or dislike him Lyoko was a major player in the legal community for a good while.
§1.15. literallyliteral, He is a former Attorney General, current Supreme Court Justice and Inferior Court Judge. His contributions are also numerous during the year 2025 and an oversight on my part. He was Attorney General for months, kept the ship afloat when no one else could. He provided a legendary defense of mythrows and got her acquitted on a case there was precedent for a guilty verdict.<ref>SD v Mythrows [2025] Crim 51</ref>
